My experience at Leti Art So Far

When it started

I began interning at Leti arts on the 9th of June 2025 as I aspire to be a game developer. With my aspiration starting during quarantine after I played Fortnite and Roblox. I shortly after started making games on Roblox and even took some commissions to better develop. But wanting more I started looking into game companies I could apply too to earn experience but due to the fact that most of these well-known game companies are overseas I was limited in choices. But like a bolt of blue lightning Leti arts was introduced to me in my first year of university. I believe it was Rob who personally came for the first meeting I had with Leti arts, it was from that meeting that led to start my research into African made game companies and I landed on Leti arts which was further fueled when I met Rob and Osemu this year again.

What I learned

I have only ever known coding when it came to the development of anything, from software applications to websites I’m always doing back end or part front end but I decided to change that at Leti arts, wanting to take on something other than game dev I chose game design, The document provided by Abigail was really helpful with getting started with game design as well as the advice from Ashely was also really helpful, I will say this I heavily underestimated the amount of research needed when making a game I just thought if u have a cool idea then make it and see what the public says but game the development is in of itself a software to be developed so it would still follow the software development lifecycle in of itself.

My team so far have been very competent so much so I feel as I am even the one holding them back with my new intro to the game design field but it is good to have them as they look hard working when it comes to the development of the game. So far so good were missing somethings but it also falls on my shoulders to get the information we need to develop the game

Conclusion

All in all, it’s been a very eye-opening experience for me to do this and I hope to keep on learning and improving to become more competent in the game design field. Thank you, Leti arts, for giving me this opportunity
