The Beginning: How it started

My first day was exciting, but it was nothing compared to how I felt during the interview which was really nerve wracking. I felt awkward, and I am sure I didn’t say the right things, but what exactly is the right thing to say, really?

Anyway, back to my first day. It was great, different from what I expected. I was put in a team of four people – including myself, but on this day, which was on a Monday, our fourth team member was not available. So, the rest of my team members and I just spoke briefly, you can imagine that there was an awkward first day vibe going on, but we worked it out… we were cool like that.

We also spoke about ideas for the game we would like to create, and we managed to come up with 3 which was more than I hoped for. So, quick fact… I happen to be in the same team with my twin sister, crazy right?!

The next day our last team member joined us, and our squad was finally complete, and ironically, we are called Team 7 (I hope you get the Naruto reference). We talked, laughed, talked some more. So far, my team has been wonderful, and they are so cool, I don’t think they know how cool they are. In general, the whole experience has got my blood pumping.

Although I haven’t yet stepped into the Leti Arts company, I have come to see how truly talented a lot of people are, and this alone is a motivating factor to make me want to do the best that I can.

My Role

As the game designer of my team, I have come to experience the whole process of brainstorming, teamwork, working to bring the game to life with the artists, designers and the developers. I am actively responsible for defining and designing the core gameplay loop and mechanics, writing documentation, and collaborating with others to get the game narrative.

The end – I think not!

This whole experience so far has been tasking I won’t lie, but I love it. The LetiArts team has made everything seamless and exciting, especially Abigail… a big shout out to her!

I am proud of what I have been able to contribute so far, and I am really excited for what’s next.
