Black Game Developers Fund Announces $1M Funding For Black Game Developers

It is an exciting moment for black game developers. Organizers of the Black Game Developers Fund (BGDF) have announced its continued commitment to providing $1M funding for the 4th year to provide independent Black game makers the opportunity to take the next step in bringing their games to life.

Launched in 2020, BGDF is a project aimed at supporting black game makers with $1M every year and has financed more than 40 games in that year. In the past year, the BGDF provided finance to nine new projects.

In addition to the funding, BGDF is looking forward to another year of working with the incredibly talented and passionate creators accepted into the program to help empower them with mentorship, networking opportunities, and marketing support.

Beneficiaries of this year’s fund are Scott Popular (NinjaMan and The Six Gold Chains), Tiny Baby Crown (Dungeon Crawler), and Will Gwasera (YASUKE: A Lost Descendant).
