Leti News Update.
How Long Have We Been Playing Again?
That feeling when you’re at a friend’s house, knowing you’ve been there for a long time but can’t check the clock because you’re so immersed in the game that’s exactly how we felt when we realised that this December marks our 15th anniversary.
Celebrating 15 years in the industry will be a sight to see, as we take this opportunity not only to honor the past but also to introduce the future of the gaming industry to the next generation, from storytelling to delivery, and the entire experience curated for you.
What does 15 years in the African gaming industry look like? What stories have been shaped and told? What does the future hold for those entering this space, and what should they expect in the next 15 years to come?
The Younger Generation and Their Passion to Learn
In recent years, we’ve noticed that the younger generation isn’t just interested in playing games—they’re eager to learn how these games are made. Many are in high school, college, or even primary school, and it’s impressive to see their openness to training in an industry we began developing 15 years ago.
How do we know this? The numbers speak for themselves:
NOTE: These figures are from Leti Arts’ internship program this year alone.
- We had a total of 48 interns contributing to projects, gaining hands-on experience in building products for Africa’s future.
- A total of 57 interns were accepted into the program.
- Each cohort receives training in various fields, including storytelling, 3D design, 2D art, game development using Unity, marketing, administrative management, and public relations to build confidence for public speaking.
- To illustrate the demand for learning, we opened slots for our next cohort and received over 300 applications. This surge is not only surprising but also exciting, knowing that these passionate individuals are the future builders of the industry.
We ensure that those not accepted do not lose their passion. We invite them to join our LetiVerse community, where they can connect with like-minded enthusiasts, share their projects, and be inspired by others. Those with skills are encouraged to showcase their work to inspire growth within the community.
With this foundation for the future, one can only imagine the opportunities that will emerge as we continue to grow this industry over the next 15 years.

Taking Innovation and Training
Our vision extends beyond nurturing existing interests and talents. For this industry to thrive, we believe it’s essential to foster curiosity and passion early on. The best way to achieve this is by taking our vision directly to schools, where students with the potential to become future innovators can discover a space to express and develop their interests in gaming. Today, African kids no longer need to hide their passion for gaming, as clear career paths now exist.
Recently, we announced our expansion plans to KNUST, where we will partner with the College of Engineering Innovation Center to build an Immersive Learning and Interactive Games Development Academy to attract innovative and creative talents across the University. The training will cover key areas such as:
- Unreal Engine
- Unity
- Full-stack development (Three.js, Phaser, AWS, DevOps, databases, mobile development, Cordova, Flutter, Capacitor, etc.)
- Roblox game development and UEFN development
- 2D & 3D generalist and animation skills
- UI/UX design for interactive media
Post-internship projects will be showcased to key stakeholders across academia, industry, government, and the media.
If you’re in school and want to start your journey in game development, this is where to begin.
And if you’re looking for inspiration, start by playing our mobile games, Sweave and Africa’s Legends.
