PRESS RELEASE

Pioneering African Game Development Studio Rebrands from Leti Games to Leti Arts

ACCRA, GHANA. September 9, 2013

One of Africa’s first game development studios announced today that it has changed its name from Leti Games to Leti Arts. The rebranding reflects Leti’s expanded ambitions beyond game development to include other interactive media products, such as digital comics and animated television shows. The company has also revealed a new logo and a redesigned website: www.letiarts.com.

Leti Arts Rebrand

“Our new name and branding reflects our transition from a game developer into a company focused on a broader digital entertainment portfolio. The word “leti” means “starlight” or “moonlight” in the Ewe language of Ghana, which is reflected in the stylized A of our new logo. True to our name, Leti aspires to be a guiding light for a whole new industry on the African continent.” – Eyram Akofa Tawia, CEO, Leti Arts

Leti Arts is currently working on its first multi-channel product – a modern retelling of the story of the African trickster god Kwaku Ananse – which will be released as an interactive digital comic and mobile game in late 2013. The company is supported by the incubator program of the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST).

“If mythology tells a people who they are, and what they can be, then it’s time for African creatives to take control of the narratives told about our homes. Heroes embody the hopes of an entire society, and by bringing African heroes to a world stage, Leti Arts is underscoring the message that as Africans, we must be our own best advocates. Our vision is for a world where every African understands that the only ones who can save us, is ourselves.” – Eyram Akofa Tawia, CEO, Leti Arts
